What’s
New For the Cure in 2010? LOTS!
Manchester, VT – The
2010 Komen Vermont-New Hampshire Race for the Cure will debut a number
of new programs and events, starting with the day of the race itself.
This year’s race, on Saturday, July 17, at Hildene Meadows in
Manchester, Vermont, will be the first Vermont-New Hampshire race held
on a Saturday.
Also new in 2010:
Sleep In for the Cure –
Can’t make it on Race Day? Register to sleep in for the cure!
We will mail your 2010 Race T-shirt or Survivor T-Shirt to you the week
before the Race. Remember: you can still join or form a team and fundraise
when you register as Sleep in for the Cure participant.
Take The Power of 10 Challenge
– The challenge is simple, but the impact can be life changing.
Please join us in the Power of 10 Challenge by asking 10 friends to
pledge $10 each to raise $100.
A New Team Challenge –
Awards will be presented to the teams who raise the most money in a
number of categories. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged since
only entries received before 6 p.m. on July 15 will count toward team
totals.
More Fun for Kids! –
We know the kids have to wait around while the grownups walk and run,
so we’re adding a raft of activities, arts and crafts and much
more to keep them well occupied and entertained.
Through events like the Komen
VT-NH Race for the Cure, the VT-NH Affiliate has netted more than $6.7
million in 18 years. Of that, more than $1.7 million supported Komen’s
research program and more than $5 million underwrote breast cancer education,
screening and treatment in Vermont and New Hampshire.
